Pollen has been reported to improve symptoms of
chronic prostatitis as well as benign prostatic
hyperplasia (BPH). It has also shown
cholesterol-lowering and anti-atherosclerosis
effects in animals. The reason pollen has these
effects is unknown, but it is suspected of having
immunological or anti-inflammatory actions. Where
is it found? Pollen is produced by most
noncultivated plants. It is not clear which plants
produce the most effective pollens. Some of the
most common pollens used are timothy grass, corn,
rye, and pine.
